Personality:
- Xingchen is a kind person. He is the kind of person who would leave everything he knows to help people he knows are worse off.
- Xingchen believes in justice, in doing the right thing. And when someone has done wrong, he believes that person should be brought to justice. By the sword, if the crime is great enough.
- Xingchen is a little naive and ignorant of the ways of the world. Oh, he can function, but he was raised in a rather closed up remote setting (mountaintop isolated sect led by an actual woman who has reached immortality), so some of the more rough and brutal aspects - he just doesn't think about them.
- He will present the world with a smile, a gentle word, if he is at all capable. Even if inside his heart is breaking, and the moment he turns away from, as far as he is aware, anyone's eyes, the smile drops.
- He is not a very forgiving person. On finding out that he has cared for and gotten to care about someone he has known as a criminal, his first action is to stab him. When he finds out what has happened to his best most beloved friend because of him, he gives him both his eyes. When he finds out what he has done, he ends himself.
Weaknesses/Temptations:
- Too kind and naive. This is less temptation and more weakness, but he is.
- Stubborn - even when told about the ways he is wrong, he will not accept it easily.
- Song Lan / Zichen - he gave his eyes for the man, and when he found out that Xingchen himself had ended his life, he took his own.
- Protecting people. A thief who tried to steal his purse but then was groped next to him? A clan of strangers? Someone whom he found bleeding at the roadside? He will try to nurture and protect.
Sins:
- Harbored a known criminal, nursing him back to health from death's door and sheltering him for years
- Killed innocent people under the manipulation of said criminal
- Killed his best friend / soulmate under the manipulation of said criminal
- Killed himself upon learning the above
Powers/Abilities:
- Cultivation: Inner alchemy to the goal of achieving immortality. It develops and focuses the inner / spiritual energy (qi), making the body more durable, faster, and stronger; practically stopping aging; allowing better health, as well as external shows of power, ranging from making a sword fly, to creation and use of talismans and protective arrays, and awareness of life forces outside of the person. He uses his spiritual powers to avoid needing something like a walking aid, but it is not replacement for sight.
- He is an expert swordsman, likely accomplished in the six arts (though currently unlikely to do much calligraphy or painting), has skill at healing.
- Shuanghua, if it is allowed, has a special power of detecting / pointing resentful/demonic/negative energy. Which should be kind of useless in hell, but.
